Tatlong Pulo : Guimaras

9:00:00 AM

Guimaras Island is in Western Visayas, Philippines. Famous for it's beautiful beaches and home of the world's sweetest mangoes. Among the many nice beaches to do an escapade in the island, Tatlong Pulo (Three Islands) raw beauty captivated us.

It is named after for its krast formation across some privately owned coves (many of the islands in Guimaras are privately owned). An adventurer like us who loves natural beauty, the way we like it to be with no sign of commercialism like Boracay, would love to spend a day or two in these secluded coves.I wanted something rustic .  A beach that is not the usual destination of many people when going for an excursion.

TATLONG PULO is located at Brgy. Sinapsapan, Jordan, Guimaras.  From Jordan Wharf, you can take tricycle for around P600.00.  Or you can take a jeepney for P14.00 to Alibhon Market then charter a tricycle for P300.00 (one way) to Bgry. Sinapsapan. Then there will be 15-20 mins. of walking before you reach the resort.  Please do take note that the resort is not a high-end resort, like any other common resorts.  You have to bring your own necessities especially your own powerbanks considering there is no electricity in the area.  The main essence of this according to the locals, is to preserve the place. Bonfires are also prohibited in the resort.

This travel was actually a last minute rush and unplanned. During our search, we were able to get the contact number of Manang Janet Ohana. She has a little beach hut with a small attic facing the three islands where you can take a nap or observe the beauty that surrounds it. There were a total of 4 beach huts in the island but as per Manang Janet, it is usually fully booked. So if you are planning on visiting the island, you must book ahead of time. With an affordable fee,  you can rent this hut plus a boat ride and a free tour guided  by one of her three kids, Nonoy. Moreover, you can bring your own food and you can ask Manang Janet to cook for you. The meduim size cooking pot of rice is P60.00. Just inform her in advance. Manang Janet has also a small sari-sari store where you can buy some canned goods, bottled water, basic toiletries and snacks. You must also expect the the price may be doubled compared from the regular retailed price on the mainland.

The resort also offers overnight stay for P150.00 and an entrance fee of P50.00 for a day rental of their hut. Check out the picture above. If you decided to have an overnight, you'll be sleeping on the upper part of the cottage. But before you decide on that, make sure you have flashlights and all your necessities with you because one: there is NO ELECTRICITY and two: the area is soooo far from the capital if you missed out something, it's not that easy to just travel all the way back-and-forth.

Natago Beach | One of the island stop overs during our island hoping.

Yes, dear. It's a white-sand beach, so you better enjoy the snorkeling and all. They offer island hopping for P600.00 only and additional P100.00 per excess hour.

The road to Brgy Sinapsapan is a mixture of concrete and rough terrain. The tricycle will drop you at Paho (mango) and it won’t continue to Tatlong because the road becomes unbearable for a vehicle. You will hike for 1.5 kilometers. Make sure you bring some protection from the scorching heat of the sun. Here your esacapade will begin. Once you reach you place, all your tiredness will be gone as if a load has been lifted. Enjoy!

If you wish to come and explore the place, contact Manang Janet Ohana at 0928-337-5687 for accomodation and food.
